The Sort menu allows you to sort the data, either by the slice labels of the x or y axes, or by the values of a particular row or column. Rows and columns may be sorted independently of each other.
When sorting by slice label, it is possible to specify whether lexicographic sorting or numeric sorting is used. To understand the difference, consider that the following sequence of numbers is lexicographically sorted, not numerically sorted.
